PLASTICITY
Installation/Sound Art/360 VR

Plasticity is an Interactive Installation for a Constructed Object and Sound, made by artist Dimitris Bakas exhibited in Olympolis Art project Replay Boundaries Prometheus I(annis) X(enakis.

Plasticity is a sort of homage to Iannis Xenakis and his initial concept for creating the famous Phillips Pavillion with the help of an architectural tool.
This tool consists of several ropes attached on two opposite sticks. When turned the sticks on opposite directions, the lines create a very interesting dynamic shape which applied to architecture creates surfaces with ‘plasticity’.

At the installation, this object is connected through contact microphones with a computer and the software Max_MSP .
The work unites both architectural and musical creativity and transforms the momentary nature of the initial idea, to a lasting experience.
Plasticity is infuenced by xenakis ideas in music and architecture.

This VR experience project is based on Dimitris Bakas installation
